Brand Library Exhibition, 2010
On February 6, 2010, the exhibition Performance Portraits of Bob Barry opened at the Brand Library and Art Center in Glendale, CA. The exhibit contained 130 images, ranging in size from 11×14 to 23×38. There were both black & white and color images.
During the run of the show, two panel discussions were held. Some of the participants were photographer, author and educator, Dr. Bill Wishner; Greg Carroll, CEO of the American Jazz Museum in Kansas City, MO; Randall Kremer, Executive Committee Member & Director of Public Affairs at Smithsonian Institution in Washington DC; jazz & blues guitarist Phil Upchurch; trumpeter and educator Dr. Bobby Rodriguez; Author and Jazz Historian Scott Yanow; composer, pianist and music producer Peter Fish; and jazz archivist, Cynthia Sesso. Several musical events were held during the run of the show, featuring the Dr. Bobby Rodriguez Quintet and guitarists Frank Potenza and Pat Kelley.
The management and staff of the Brand Library did a magnificent job of organizing, designing, hanging and running the exhibit. I am deeply grateful to all the staff for their hard work and to all those who participated in events, and of course, all those who attended.
